New York Midwives

Hello to all who view my site..  
 My name is Susan DiNatale and  have been attending Home Births  for over 15 years, and Labor Support for over 28 years..I am married to my wonderful husband Frank and  have three children;  Brandon is 31, Heather 23 ( her husband Kevin)and Christina is 20. I also have an adorable granddaughter  Anna who is 20 months. 

I  became a Doula in 1978 quite by accident. I  took an EMT course and passed the exam easily. I also became An LLL leader ( I am retired now). I  had the great privilege of training with a wonderful midwife for over three years.  I was honored to be her midwife when she had her last child.. I also  attended and graduated from the Massachusetts Midwives Alliance Training program  in 1991.  When our client base didn't provide me with enough  emergency skills I spent  5 weeks at Casa de Nacimeinto in El Paso Texas.  I relocated to  Dover,  De., in 1999 and  spent three years in Europe returning to my practice in Jan of this year. 

I am a former member of the Breastfeeding  Task Force in Ma.  I have worked  on legislation to  change the status of midwives in Ma. and De.,  spending many a  day and late  night at legislative hall. 

My philosophy is that birth is a normal and natural family centered event in a womans life..I further believe that every woman has the right to birth where and with whom she so chooses..  I maintain that you are the one in control of your health and I am there to mentor and  guide you through the childbearing year, so that you and your family   have the best pregnancy and birth possible.  
 
My goal is to help  families  by providing the information to make good sound evidenced based, educated decisions.  I  have loved babies and birth my entire life and look forward to creating change in the lives of Delaware families.
